London weekend

A while ago I went for the first time in my live to London.
We had a pretty brief long weekend visit. It was spring in London and beautiful weather and I definitly need to go there sometime again.

I had prepared myself to London a bit by watching all seasons of Tudors :D I know, I know...it's not 100% accurate but I still liked it.
I especially absolutely adore the actress Natalie Dormer, who so well played Ann Boylean.
So below you see a pic of me before the the Tower of London :)
I've also been reading Peter Ackroyds history of England...I wanted to read it before the trip but I've still got some chapters to go. I'm usually a fast reader but lately I've been busy and distracted by many things.

I definitly want to visit London someday again! A few days just wasn't enough.

All in all...I'm inspired by London :)

Iron Throne

Do I look good on the Iron Throne? Would I make a good queen for Westeros? :D
You can probably tell that I'm a huge fan of The Song of Ice and Fire and the Game of Thrones TV-series ;) Fantasy literature and fantasy art have been with me since my childhood. My first love at age 4 was "The Last Unicorn" animated movie, and later I read the book by Peter S. Beagle in 3 languages (finnish, english and german)...
Today George R.R.Martins Song of Ice and Fire is my favorit fantasy book series. I even met Mr Martin last summer here in Finland :) http://nadja-art.blogspot.fi/2015/07/archipelacon-weekend-and-epic-fangirl.html

See, I could just go on and on about fantasy literature and movies and TV series :D
Anyway, I mainly just wanted to show how cool I rule in my casual look ;)

Hamburg weekend

So last week me and hubby Asko and my sister had a short vacation to Hamburg :) I used to study graphic design in Hamburg and lived there years 2000-2005. I was also born in Hamburg, so it's a hometown for me :) my favorit city in the world.

We stayed at my friends place; with lovely people and cats surrounding us :) Below is me with a bigger cat :P

I'm planning a group exhibition in Helsinki for June. It will have some of my big flower paintings on display. I'll tell more when all contracts are signed etc :) but I'm happy to have an art exhibition soon! I've tried to arrange at least one every year.

My art in their new homes :)

As you might have noticed, I've lately done a lot of flower paintings and I've now sold some of them.
I received pictures of 2 paintings in their new homes :)

It's so lovely to see my creations in their new homes. Both "Under the storm" and "Fading dream" are located in bedrooms. I'm sort of honoured that they are in bedrooms, since that's the most personal room in the house :) well, at least for myself. I also did a flower painting for our own bedroom, but ended up selling it too :D now I have to paint something for myself too.

Moonlight

The last painting of 2015 is called "Moonlight". I tried to do a pink blueish cherryflower painting but it just somehow didn't work out. Below is one snap shot of that phase. I've grown a liking to pink lately, and I even have pink hair these days :)
...but you know inside, I'm always the gloomy girl, so that's why my attempt of a cheerful pink painting just turned sightly melancholic. But I am quite pleased how the painting turned out :)

Well, not always flowers...this time a different painting.
Unfortunately online, big paintings don't always come across so nicely :( this one has a lot of nice texture that you can only see from close. I'm a texture freak these days :D

Under the storm

All my life, I've attempted to do realistic art but slowly, slowly the love for abstract art has taken over and nowadays I really enjoy doing big, abstract pieces. Here is a new abstract flower painting. Did I mention that blue is my favorit colour? ;)
